Why NZ Orders Include a Small Extra Fee

Starting in 2026, New Zealand Customs began charging a small per-parcel fee on low-value goods coming into the country — including ours. It's roughly NZ$2.20–2.55 per order (about the price of a coffee), and it applies to every parcel crossing the border, no matter who's shipping it or how small the order is.

We're not thrilled about it either. It's not a Wanalayah markup, and it's not optional on our end — it's a government charge we're required to pass along, the same way any store shipping into NZ has to. We'd rather you knew exactly why that small amount is there than have it show up as a mystery line item. Rather than tack it on as a separate surprise charge at checkout, we've folded it into our flat NZ shipping rate so there's nothing extra sprung on you at the last step.

Everything else about ordering from New Zealand works exactly like it does everywhere else we ship: same $14.49 flat rate, same free shipping over $84.99.
